  2. Reporting to Law Enforcement or the Appropriate Authorities

How To Spot A Fraudulent Buyer and/or Seller?

A.

Asks you to wire money into on international account (e.g. Western Union, Escrow, online money transfer etc.) - Unclear item details. Consistently avoids answering phone calls or chats. - Continuously provides excuses about why you haven't received an item. - Sells an expensive and popular item at a suspiciously low price. - Tries to convince you to communicate outside of Townbus Classifieds by listing their email address or their web page address in the item's description.

Any communication between buyers and sellers is completely their own decision. It is the user's discretion not to respond to your offer or communication. Townbus Classifieds does not participate in any negotiations between buyers and sellers. Always adhere to the following tips:
  • Do not contact users posting suspicious ads.
  • Keep the communication strictly relevant to Ad offered.
  • Always use the Townbus Classifieds system for communication.
  • Don't keep contacting a particular seller if you get no response.
  • Use a payment method with fraud protection.
  • Track your shipment.
